Pyros! Round 1 Results

The Goblin Warchanter continues her song but hangs back, assessing your party. Yola, however shows no such constraint.

Yola: You sprint straight into the thick of the goblin attackers and take a wild swing at the nearest one, but he ducks out of the way and jabs at you with his torch, but misses you as well.\

Gerund: You jog towards the church and nock an arrow to your bowstring. When you get a clear line on the signing warchanter you let fly, but miss your mark, burying the shaft in the side of the burning wagon instead. The warchanter responds by cracking her whip out at you feet. You jump back, and barely have time to ready your shield and sword as two more of the torch wielding gobos jump between you and the warchanter. You manage to avoid their attacks, taking one on you shield and sidestepping the other.

Seoni: You run forward and fire a ray of frost and one of the dancing torch bearing goblins as it makes ready to attack Yola’s flank. Your aim is true and the little beastie catches your icy beam full in the face. It squeals in pain, dropping its torch. Badly wounded and with all of its gleeful exuberance replaced with murderous intent, it draws its dogslicer and charges towards you. Unfortunately its stumpy little legs aren’t up to the task and it doesn’t quite manage to cover the distance between the two of you.

Sasha: As the two sides clash, you start manoeuvring around the goblin’s north flank, looking for an opportune target.

Poot: You try to keep up with the fleet footed human girl. It’s only as you hear a goblin scream in pain that you realize you’re moving laterally to the skirmish, not towards it. You’re not sure if this is a good thing or not.

Not really a great round for either side. Seoni scores the only hit with her Ray of Frost for your side, while the goblins come up with all misses. Initiative order stays the same. Post your actions for the next round . . .

Poot, seeing that the goblins are ganging up on Gerund, runs towards Gobby#2 and with a quick gesture of the hand causes a flare of light and flame to xplode at the goblins feet.
(moving towards Gerund casts flare at Goblin#2)

basically the same thing - using the staff and the knife I attack the goblin with all that I've got and if I get him I switch over the WC.

Seoni switches to the more tried and true Magic Missile spell and prepares to fire away. She makes sure she keeps her distance from Gobo #4 though.

Sasha turns to Seoni. "I know how you feel Seoni. I was admiring the gold from the card game I had yet to win tonight. Though the cathedral is no less a travesty. Given that these little snots have gone to so much effort to ruin things for us ... lets return the favor."

The shadows flickered across the courtyard giving as the vicious goblins threw brand after flaming brand at the the cathedral.

Sasha bit her lower lip unclasping her whip with one hand and balancing her rapier with the other.

"Battles like card games," she thought "could be won or lost based on a single strike."

Even now she could see Gerund facing two goblins. As he challenged them both she couldn't help but notice his courage, muscles or that the little snots were so occupied they had their backs turned to her.

For a moment she caught Poot's quizzical look and blushed.

"Well, at least the blacksmith has done me that favor. The little snots are so eager with him they won't know we're coming. Cunning is the better part of valor, halfling. Never forget that."

Sasha, knew that battles like card games were often won with one well played hand instead of facing the odds recklessly.

She also knew she would be trying to sneak attack small moving targets, avoid one LARGE moving target and trying while babysitting a pot-wearing halfling on the side.

The odds were beginning to look a little more ridiculous each minute. Skulking towards the battle she whispered to Poot.

"Whatever happens stay beside me. I might need a body guard."

Inwardly she smiled at entered the fray.

Gerund sighed.

"Alright," he thought, "Perhaps I haven't quite mastered the powers of my calling, but steel I know, and it hasn't failed me yet."

He kept himself positioned facing both goblins, making sure he wasn't flanked, with his shield at the ready, he showed them the sword, said, "I am the last thing you will ever see, and this will be the last thing you ever feel."

Being careful not to overextend, he swung his sword at Goblin #2, keeping his shield facing #1.
