And so ends the Ballad of Tsuto (sniff . . )

Yola lets out a Shoanti curse as Gerund collapses. Shouldering past the sputtering Paladin, she reaches for one of the javelins sheathed to her back as she sprints after the fleeing Tsuto. She follows him into a long curving passageway and lets fly the javelin just before Tsuto disappears around the bend. Made to take down the wild aurochs of the Storval plateau, the heavy iron tip of the javelin punches through Tsuto's torso, and he falls face down in the dirt, unmoving.

Seoni and Poot follow Yola, albeit with significantly more caution, into the room beyond, which proves to be pretty much empty. As Sasha picks her way through the rubble to where Gerund is recovering his breath, she notices a well mad composite short bow and a quiver with a dozen arrows hidden in the debris. You guess that Tsuto stashed these here in case he was forced into a missile engagement.

Congratulation! Tsuto is down! The party is under no immediate threat. You have several doors in the basement left to explore, and the mysterious passage that Tsuto was trying to escape down - it stretches on in a gentle curve making it impossible to see more than 20 feet or so. And of course, Ameiko is still missing. Party status below:

Yola 11/14 ( rage used for the day)
Sasha 5/7
Poot 7/7 ( bardic music used for the day)
Gerund 3/11 ( smite and all healing used for the day)
Seoni 5/5 ( 2 1sts and 1 0lvl spell used, Mage Armor in effect for one hour)

"Well I don't know how the rest of you feel, but I don't think we're in any shape to continue."
"My suggestion is we set up camp upstairs and keep watch on this place. I can run to town for food and supplies."

Good idea Poot, but I want to search the remaining doors here in the basement just to make sure.

Sasha grabs the quiver and bow.

"These might be worth some cold hard cash" she smirks to herself. See her companions plan to camp and take some time to themselves she smiles inwardly.

As she turns the corner she notices on of the doors still firmly locked. Ensuring that Poot is no where nearby she bends down and begins picking the lock thinking that there might be some things of worth on the other side.

"I think Poot is right that we should wait to continue our searching. I'm not sure that upstairs will be better though - this place seems to have too many doors and even more secrets."

Seoni checks on Gerund making sure he is all right. Assuming so, she will proceed to Tsuto's fallen form and see if there are any clues as to what he was up to at the glassworks and where his sister may be.

Seeing that Sasha and Yola are set on searching the other rooms on this floor, Poot decides to help Gerund to his feet and walk him back up to the top of the stairs. Incase there are any nasty suprises left down here, Poot wants Gerund out of harm's way. While he helps him up Poot begins singing a madrigal to lift his spirits.
