The first step is to determine your ability scores. Your character's six abilities are:
Strength: measures the physical strength of your character. High strength characters deal more damage in close combat. A must for fighters and barbarians
Dexterity: Measures your character's agility, relfexes and balance. Makes you arder to hit. Very important for characters like rogues and bards who don't wear much armor.
Constitution: Measure's your character's health and stamina. Increases the amount of damage your character can withstand, so a good score if your planning to be up front duking it with the baddies.
Intelligence: Measures how well your character learns and reasons. Most important stat for wizards, and usefull for skill driven characters like Rogues.
Wisdom: Measures your character's willpower, common sense, perception and intuition. Important for divine spellcasters like clerics and druids.
Charisma: Measures a character's force of personality, persuasiveness, and physical attractiveness. Very important for innate casters like bards and sorcerers.
The average human ability score is 10, and the maximum score a human can start with is 18. You receive an ability modifier of +1 for every 2 points over 10 that gets applied to rolls throughout the game. For example, a fighter with a 12 strength gains a +1 on all rolls to hit opponents in melee combat, while a fighter with an 18 strength would gain a +4 on the same rolls.
You have 28 points to buy your ability scores as based on the costs on the following chart:
Ability Score Cost
8 ................. 0
9 ...................1
10 ..................2
11....................3
12 ...................4
13 .................. 5
14 ...................6
15 ................... 8
16 .................10
17 ...................13
18 .................. 16
If you've selected a non-human character you must apply some racial modifiers to your scores after you've bought them. For example, Poot the halfling must subtract 2 from his final strength score and add 2 to his dexterity score.
So go ahead and play around with your ability scores. When you've generated a set of six scores that you are happy with, post them here, or email them to me, and we'll move on to the next step - selecting feats.

How does this sound
STR: 14
DEX: 16
CON: 13
INT: 11
WIS: 10
CHA: 10
( cause I'm a smart barbarian hee hee)
Mich
Awright, this is Poot:
STR 06
DEX 16
CON 12
INT 10
WIS 08
CHR 18
His strengths obviously bein' talkin' is way outta trouble and dodgin' tossed drinks.
His weaknesses bein' an inability to walk against a strong wind, and learnin' from his mistakes.
She may have a heart of gold but with a high Dex score and a love of cards she'll have the gold in your purse as well.
Though Sasha can learn from her mistakes - it doesn't stop her from repeating them.
STR 12
DEX 16
CON 12
INT 14
WIS 10
CHA 10
