Welcome to Varisia!
Scarred by the depravity of ancient wizards and reclaimed by a wilderness of beasts and savagery, only in the past few hundred years have the steps of men again trod this wondrous and mysterious land.

In Brief: This game is intended to be a fun adventure playable by people with little to no experience with the D&D rules system. As such, it will be "rules light," and until I come up with some sort of embedded dice rolling engine, all rolls will be behind the scenes. As such, serious gamers should tread with caution. Rules primers will be presented as sidebars as we go along so everyone is aware of the basics and their character options, but again these will be short. We're concentrating here on story, not mechanics.

Step 1: Have a brief read through the 16pg players guide and come up with a concept for a character based on the info provided there. Your character is attending the Swallowtail Festival in Sandpoint. Post this concept ( one or two paragraphs max) to this thread as a "comment" or email it directly to me here. Once we've heard from all players, we will proceed to step 2: Creating your Character!

Oh, and pay no attention to the torch weilding little gaffers below. They're harmless I'm sure, and probably just here for the Swallowtail Festival's free BBQ.

Story Thus Far:

Poot The Lute, has been a resident of Sandpoint from an early age. Jargie Quinn, the one legged owner of the Hagfish Tavern won Poot from a band of traveling Varisians. When Jargie learned that Poot had been taught how to play various instruments he promoted him from "floor-scrubber" to "floor-scrubber that plays the Lute on Tuesdays." Poot finds some artistic release when he gets to compose the occasional diddy for Cyrdak Drokkus and the Sandpoint Players. However, in the early hours of the morning when his work is done, he lights his pipe and dreams of other places in the clouds of smoke.
