After some first aid and a short nervous rest, the party decides to try to head in the same direction as Gogmurt's summoned bird flew. Sasha throws open the thistle door to the north and stares out over a cliff that drops over 300 feet to the ocean surf below. From here she has a great view of the Varisian gulf and the island of Thistletop itself. In the fading sunlight she sees activity along the fort's two guard towers. Sasha examines the cliff side itself and while she is confident that she and probably Shalelu could navigate down it, it is unlikely the rest of the party could make it down safely. Especially since they would be in full view of the western guard tower the entire climb.
So instead the party starts to wind their way through the northern part of the maze. Shalelu and Poot take the lead again and soon the cramped passage opens up into a larger chamber. there is a large gaping hole in roughly the centre of the chamber. The sound of crashing surf can be heard echoing up from below. As the party fans out around the hole, Shalelu suddenly raises a hand in warning. Poot hears the rustling too. There is something moving beyond the Brier wall opposite the hole.
The green "X" marks the rough location of the sound ( only Poot and Shalelu heard it). Do you investigate the rustling, investigate the hole, or ignore both and keep pressing forward. Note you can click on the map embedded in the post for a larger version (I'm getting so fancy!)

Sasha draws her rapier. Her nerves are heightened from their last encounter and she has a gnawing sensation in her stomach. The fear that she felt earlier on seems to be taking root again.
Seoni asks very quietly, "Should Shalelu try and circle around behind it and flush whatever it is to us?"
Yola gets her weapons ready, she doesn't like being so couped up in this maze but what choice does she have.
Gerund guards the OTHER direction, just in case.
Sasha sticks close to Yola and makes sure Seoni is in her line of sight at all times.
Poot quickly 'Messages' everyone to be quiet and take defensive stances. He then conspires with Shalelu to take up a position with him, each on either side of the rustling.
Poot then places an unseen servant in a crouched position between the rustling and the hole of the pit. Whatever comes charging out of there will hopefully trip over the unseen servant and plunge down the hole. (quiet Greg it's a good idea!)
(ummmm what if the thing doing the rustling is a child from the village or someone who is not a goblin like an escaped hostage?)

(shrub rustlers should be shown no mercy.)
