Gerund and Yola

Gerund and Yola walk with purpose down Main Street to the garrison. On their way people smile and wave, some calling out their thanks and greeting. Young women giggle to each other and blush as Gerund passes by, and at one point an elderly woman runs out from her shop and presses a fresh baked loaf into Yola’s arms. “Here you go dearie, eat this. Why you’re practically skin and bones! A hero like you needs to eat a good breakfast.”

When you finally arrive at the garrison, Sheriff Hemlock sees you right away. You fill him in on what Poot and Seoni learned from the goblins, (quickly glossing over how they got into the jail), and give him the full story of how things played out with the would-be mob.

He nods as you finish. “We knew they had been mucking about the boneyard, but this news that they were led by a “longshanks” is new, and frankly disturbing. You have all done well, even that troublesome halfling,” he says with a smirk. “We’re still cleaning up the mess from the attack, but I am meeting with the mayor late this afternoon to go over what we know. Why do you and your friends join us? You’re account, and your insight, will be useful. Is there anything else I can help you with?”

I think if would be a good idea to meet as well with the mayor, let's get back to see what Poot and Sasha found out and then go from there, maybe with their info from the priest we can put it more into prospective for the sheriff.

Yola

"Save that food, you never know when it'll come in handy," he added, "An army marches on its stomach."

He did his best to be gracious and kindly received the attentions of the locals, but somehow it felt immodest. After all, he hadn't done it for the fame, and he hadn't achieved it alone either. Back home, while working in his blacksmith shop the maidens would sometimes peek around corners or from behind carts and giggle and blush in the same manor. He wondered what they could possibly have seen in his half-dressed, sweaty, soot covered self while he pounded a horseshoe into shape. Not that he ever found out either. When he called out to them, asked them what they wanted, they either ran away, tittered harder or whispered amongst themselves - sometimes all three. It always left him utterly confused. Yola, on the other hand, was brave strong, and capable of speech. Indeed, so were the rest of the women in his new group of friends. Adversity brings the best out of us like cream rising to the top of a milk barrel.

Gerund agreed, "Sounds like a plan. All right, let's find the others and pool our information," he said.
