What's around the Corner

The party moves up and Sasha peers around the first corner. Before her is a long corridor. She shines her bullseye lantern down the length of it, and the light reveals what seems to be a room at the far end. Tiled floor strewn with rubble.

It is still very dark and as Sasha turns her lantern down the side passage, the way ahead goes dark. To remedy this, Poot casts a Light spell on each member of the party. As you peer ahead into the gloom you note that the corridor starts to dip down steeply, and you can make out at least one more side branching passage up ahead in the shadows.

Each character is now shedding a 40' radius globe of light from one item on their person ( a weapon, helmet, you decide) for the next hour. The light is roughly equivalent to a single torch. Sasha is carrying a lit bullseye lantern: A lantern designed to focus light in a straight beam rather than all round. It will cast a cone of illumination up to 120'

Your party can choose to investigate the rubble strewn room to your right, or proceed further down the passage to the next intersection.

In answer to the "collapse the tunnel" questions: Your party really isn't equipped for demolitions. It could be done, but would require pick axes, explosives etc, and since none of you are engineers or miners ( never a dwarf around when you need one), you're just as likely to bring the tunnel down on your heads as you are to achieve the desired result.

"Well, I don't like leaving an unchecked passage behind us. Don't want nuthin' sneakin' it's way up. I suggest we check out this passage on our right."

Right then, let's head that way, Yola replies, after you Master Poot.

Sasha tightens her grip on her rapier making sure to give Yola as much room as she needs. Treading carefully she wonders what horrors the snots have conscripted to help them.

With Poot in the lead the party prceeds down the passage and into the rubble strewn room. The rubbles seems to come from what was once a wall seperating the room and the passage. It seems that whatever dug these passages broke into a pre-existing structure here. On the north wall of the room is a door. The party openns the door to reveal a series of corridors beyond, all of the same cut flagstone and brick.

Please refer to the map below. The corridor heading east extends beyond Poot's torch light, but the corridor to the north seems to open into a larger area and ends in a door. Note the foggy areas on the map represent area that you have already explored but can no longer see directly.

"The Snots have been busy. Tunnels, underground buildings. Tell me they did come up with this themselves?"

Sasha is content to follow but the confied quarters make her anxious. Street fighting is one thing but being underground away from both the sun and the sea makes her a little twitchy. She starts biuting her lower lip trying to qwell her nerves.

Poot turns right down the long corridor.

This is getting a little twisty in here, Yola says as she follows Poot down the corridor. It's going to be a right mess if we are ambushed.
